LED screen production for a live arena tour

For the Hollywood Vampires tour, Pixl provided the LED screens and the technical crew behind the show's live video, working as part of a wider production and content team to support the performance’s visual identity.

The system was built around four columns of ROE BQ4.6 LED, a 4.6mm touring product chosen for its balance of brightness, resolution and roadworthiness across a moving show. Around 144 full tiles, plus spares and half-tiles, were rigged on custom bars and driven by Brompton SX40 processing, giving a bright, high-resolution canvas that held up across large stages night after night.

Content playback ran from Resolume media servers on Apple Mac Studio M1 Ultra machines, with a Barco PDS-4K dual-channel switcher and live camera feeds routed into the screens. The video and graphics content itself was created by the tour's content team; Pixl's role was to present it on the LED at scale and keep the system running reliably throughout the tour.

What we delivered

Pixl supplied the touring LED screen system and the technical team to run it, covering LED supply and rigging, Brompton SX40 processing, Resolume media-server playback, vision direction, racks engineering and camera across the tour.

The Pixl team was led by Tom Walsh (Project Manager), with Tom Robinson (Vision Director), Oscar Winter and Francisco Sousa (LED Technicians), Tom Westbrook and Ben Mason (Racks Engineers), and Marcus Daly and Peter Tilling (Camera / Projection) - the crew responsible for both the look of the video on the night and the reliability of the system across a 55-day run.
