Technical production lead for an open-air live music event

For Robomagic Live's 'Live at Fulham Palace', Pixl Evolution took on the role of Technical Production Lead, responsible not only for supplying equipment but also for designing and delivering the integrated technical solution behind the show.

The brief was to create an immersive open-air experience for thousands of guests across performances by Groove Armada and Ministry of Sound Classical. That meant bringing video, lighting and audio together into one coherent production, where each element supported the performance rather than competing with it. Pixl's team, led by Tom Walsh, designed the overall technical approach and took responsibility for tying the disciplines together on site.

At the centre of the build was a large-format ROE BQ4.6 LED system - 120 full tiles plus half tiles, rigged across hanging and ground-supported structures and driven by two Brompton SX40 processors. Content playback and switching ran on Apple Mac Studio M1 Ultra servers via a Barco PDS-4K switcher and Barco Image Pro 4K scaling, delivering a bright, high-resolution canvas suited to a large outdoor stage.

What we delivered

As Technical Production Lead, Pixl designed the integrated solution and delivered the video build, while coordinating the lighting and audio partners to keep the whole production aligned.

- Large-format ROE BQ4.6 LED supply, rigging and ground support

- Brompton SX40 processing driving the LED system

Pixl's role as lead meant taking responsibility for how the technical elements worked together as a whole - not just the screens, but the way video, lighting and audio combined into one experience for the audience.
